Just this side of heaven is a place called
All the animals who had been ill and old are
restored to health and vigour. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and
strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss
someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They
all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks
into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly
he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying
him faster and faster.
You
have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling
together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain
upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once
more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never
absent from your heart.
Then
you cross

Letting our dogs go has to be one of the hardest
things to do. Many people we know find it very hard to replace a loved one,
they are, after all, part of our family. All of our dogs take up a very special
part of our heart, and each of them have left their own mark on us.
In human funerals, we talk about the “celebration
of life”, and “moving on”. The thought that our doggie family moves on to wait
for us at
Below are some of our family who are waiting for
us at

Jet (21/4/1993 - 26/11/2006)
It was all because of Jet (AKA Wetty!) that
I had cause to first meet Carol. We were at the Collar and Lead Club in
Farnborough and Carol was working Jet in the Novice obedience class. I was, at
that time, working my boy Jed in the same class.
Jet made an instant impression on me as she
was absolutely in control of Carol, and whenever she worked, Wetty barked all
the way round. How many Obedience classes could Carol have won if Wetty hadn't
kept shouting encouragement all the time! How true her Kennel name, Wicked Lady!
In Agility she was no better!! Jet always knew better and told everyone so, and
it was obvious from the first obstacle that the judge had put all the numbers
in the wrong place! Only on one occasion did the judge get it right in Jet's
opinion, and she won that class. It was to be the only win she would have. She
retired from both sports some years ago.
Right to the very end Jet was always the
top dog and matriarch in the house. If any of the other dogs got too playful or
looked like they were having too much of a good time, she always stepped in and
with one small "gruff" or curl of her lips, she would quell any
situation before there were tears. No-one ever questioned it. All the dogs came
to her side at the end and said their goodbyes. Tag was the last and that is
where he stayed until the end. How do they know?
As she was in life, in her last moments,
Jet took control of the situation. After a nice day with all the family
yesterday, she finally decided that Rainbow Bridge was calling her. She
appeared to have had a small stroke, she curled up in her favourite bed
and that is where she went to sleep. She made the decision that it was her time
and took all the pain away from Carol and myself. Old age had finally caught up
with her, and at 13 and a half she decided that enough was enough and she
wanted to be reunited with Buzzy Bear and Skye.
Thank you darling Wetty for all the
memories you have given to us, for all the tears of laughter and joy while
working you. Most of all, thank you for being, well, just You. Wait for us at
Rainbow Bridge and we will all be together once again.

Buzz (9th August 1990 - 12th November 2005)
(Click
Here for Tributes To Buzz)
After over 15 and a half years of being an
old git, being frightened of bangs, which thankfully in the last few years he
couldn't see or hear (!), of being miserable to entire males and hating them
with a passion, whilst loving the girls with as much vim and vigour, he joins
his beloved Skye at Rainbow Bridge.
Thank you Buzzy Bear for everything you have given to us, especially your
undying love.
We will miss you, taking forever on the walks, to make sure every sniff is
sniffed and watered, staggering around for the last few months. It won't be the
same every night helping us to put the pool to bed, again staggering around
making sure you have found all the tennis balls and then taken them to the shed
to await your bikkies. How you never fell in the pool we will never know! We
will miss the logistics of dog shows, taking you for a walk without the other
boys knowing, and visa versa, and keeping you from the other boys at the shows
on the exercise area, and the girls for different reasons!
You never did Obedience, but you did win one Novice Agility class many years
ago with Carol, but with me you excelled in destroying agility courses, leaving
no jump up if you possibly could, then deciding that the finish was not
something you wanted to do, but run straight past it. I just loved working you
Buzzy, you taught me that it was the taking part, not the winning that was the
best part of agility, oh yes, and humility!!
You will always be in our thoughts. Run free and easy with your Skye at

Skye (24/6/89 – 23/7/03)
Skye was one of the kindest, most forgiving and loving dogs I ever had
the privilege of knowing. She competed with Carol in both Obedience and Agility
and competed for 10 consecutive years at Crufts in Agility before she retired.

Chloe (02/04/93 – 02/04/08)
After a gap of nearly 5 years, Chloe
sadly joined P.J and Amber at Rainbow Bridge. She was one of the infamous
'3 Musketeers' all now departed and
waiting for us. She loved her swimming and was VERY much a Mummy’s girl. The
relationship she had with Anne (Andrew’s Mum) was almost telepathic and symbiotic.
She writes this about Cookie:
“Although deaf from a very young age,
we loved working together in obedience and Kennel Club
displays. I have such wonderful memories, of joy and fun with
my little special shadow, and in her silent world we understood each other
so well, her last message to me being…..
"Don't be sad at my passing Mum,
but joyful of my having being with you for so many years"
I wish the pain of not having her here
would go away …
I do still so miss her, P.J, Amber and
all our little people.”
Rest in Peace Darling.
PJ
(1/3/90 – 4/6/03)
You were the
start of it all, my darling. Thank you for starting me in Obedience, and
consequently giving me all I have now. You
went to sleep in my arms – wait for me at

Amber
(4/10/91 – 21/12/02)
Amber was Sarah’s (Andrew’s sister) little girl.
She was a monster and an angel in the same cuddly package.
Sarah had this to say about her little girl;
“This wonderful picture was one of the last ones taken of
her and
personally, one of my absolute favourites..... we had had such a nice
Saturday together and she had stolen this bumble bee out of mum's 'unwanted
raffle prizes box'!.....Bambi was so pleased with herself for finding it
that even Mum couldn't help but give in to letting her have keeping it..”
We all miss you Bambi after you were taken from us so suddenly just before Christmas – you loved opening up all our presents with us.
Sleep well my
babies……….
